The Output Lies

The PLC says it's energizing a solenoid (the output LED on the card is lit), but the solenoid never fires.
① Run your checks
PLC OUTPUTFUSESOLENOID
② Make the call
③ Explain your reasoning optional

A strong answer covers:

  • What you did: didn't trust the LED, measured the actual voltage at the output terminal, then checked the output-group fuse.
  • The reason: the LED is lit (logic commands it) but the terminal reads 0V, and the output-group fuse is open, so the command never leaves the card.
  • Determined outcome: replace the blown fuse and find what popped it, don't swap the card or the solenoid on the strength of an indicator light.
